Valentine's Day Gift Ideas for Long Distance Relationships

Hello Darlings!

Valentine's Day is just a few days away! If you are spending your day celebrating within a long distance relationship, then we are in the same boat. The hardest thing about long distance relations is one being in them and two figuring out that to when trying to celebrate holidays and anniversaries. Don’t worry, I have some ideas that you can help you.

We are going to have 3 categories based around price ranges so that you have a range of ideas for whatever the budget is.

Free to Practically Nothing

Date Night!

I know you are thinking “Sabrina, I thought this was for long distance relationships.”. Yes! Date Night can still happen. All you need is Facetime and a movie or cards. Just set aside a few hours where you put your phone away and spend time together. You can pick a new or favorite movie to watch together or even play a card game like 21 where one person has the cards and shows the other their hand.

Write a Letter

Writing letters have been lost over the years with all of the technological advances. With this, it makes getting a letter from someone so much more meaningful.

Video Letter

If you are tech savvy, you can make a video letter. This can be just as meaning as writing a letter. Just record what you want to say from your heart and you can get creative with it. Maybe make a timeline video by having pictures throughout the video of your relationship.

Mid Range

Etsy Gifts

Etsy has a range of nice gift for anyone. Plus most of them are customizable so you can have a personal messages. One thing I got someone on there was a really nice leather wallet with his initials and “I love you a lottle” engraved in it. This gift was a huge hit plus it had our little personally saying that made it so much more special.

Chocolate or Flowers

There are many different shops that will deliver flowers, chocolate, or even edible arrangements. These are always so special. Personally, I say go for the food because who doesn’t like eating chocolate.

Care Package

Another more creative idea is to get a two day flat rate box from USPS and fill it will a whole bunch of goodies that your valentine would love. This could be candy, books, comics, art supplies, letters, stuff animals, etc. You can really personalize this to the person you are sending it to.

Money Doesn’t Matter

Buy food to be delivered

If you have their address, you could use a food delivery service to have food delivered to them. Some ideas could be dominos, cheesecake factory, or any of their favorite places. This could be a little pricey but the way to a person’s heart is definitely through food.

Tickets

Another idea is surprising them with tickets to maybe a favorite artist or theater production. Surprises like this can really mean a lot to other person especially if it is something they have been waiting to see for a while. So make sure you listen to them talking because they will probably give you a hint to what you should get them.

The Ultimate Surprise

Get yourself to them. This is probably one of the more expensive options but it is one of the most romantic things you can do for someone. Of course this is not something that a majority of people in long distance relationships can do but if it is possible, I would do this over everything else.

Remember that you are not alone in this. So many people are in long distance relationships and are able to make it work. Think about being together in the future. Once you are there it will all be worth it. Hopefully some of these ideas will help make your life a little easier.

Happy Valentine’s!
Sabrina
